This Intel-Based Mini PC Runs Completely Fan-less

Maxtang's GXTL-50 is SFF PC with an Intel Tiger Lake and Xe graphics.

There are many form factor (SFF) PCs with Intel's Tiger Lake mobile processors inside, but most are actively cooled. Recently unveiled by FanlessTech, the Maxtang GXTL-50 stands out for bringing everything you would expect to a Mini PC - without fans.

Measuring 11.14 x 5.04 x 2.72 inches (283 x 128 x 69mm) the GXTL-50 uses its upper side for cooling, so it should be installed somewhere with proper airflow.

Maxtang offers a choice of Mini PC with 5 Intel Tiger Lake processors: Celeron 6305 or Core i3-1115G4, i5-1145G7 or i7-1165G7. The system can be installed up to 64GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM and M.2-2280 SSD with PCIe interface.

The GXTL-50 door I / O is the basis for the Tiger Lake-powered system. The device comes with a GbE port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapter, dual HDMI output, four USB Type-A connectors (2.0 / 3.0), one USB-C port and audio jack 3.5mm headphones.

For some reason, Maxtang did not include the Intel drivers needed to support Thunderbolt 4, a key feature of the Tiger Lake platform. This is limited in a number of ways, including anyone hoping to add an external photo card. The high-end GTXL-50 features Intel's quad-core i7-1165G7 with beautiful Intel Xe-LP graphics and media engine, but it's just ready to play.

On the other hand, the system may be just what the doctor instructed for home PC theater enthusiasts, who can appreciate both the high power of media processing at Tiger Lake and the quiet non-compliant functionality of the system.

Maxtang is a Chinese company, and its products are not officially available in the U.S. or in Europe. However, company plans are usually available on AliExpress.
